Overview
The problem:
Various bed and breakfast booking websites
proved to be outdated, confusing, and
troublesome for motivated users looking to
book a quick trip
The goal:
Establish a feeling of trust and credibility
between Biscuit Valley Retreat and the
targeted users, therefore causing bookings to
increase.
Research
User Research Summary:
The research conducted for this website was based on the target users for the site, that being
someone looking to get away from their ordinary schedule and enjoy the pleasures of life. My
initial assumption was that someone looking to book a stay somewhere knows exactly what they
want to book. However, after some research, I noted that many users must enjoy the booking
experience before they commit to a choice. This website research proved that a bed and breakfast
page must be easy to navigate, have bright attractive visuals, and present the user with various
experience options.

Persona: Sophie
Sophie is a hardworking nurse that enjoys quiet and tranquility and needs an easy-to-follow website for booking her next nature getaway.
Wireframes
Sketching out my intial
wireframes posed multiple
questions.
• Where should I focus the
users attention?
• What kind of navigation
system should I implement?
• Will this layout allow for
interactivity?
I had various layout ideas,
some more robust then
others.

Another concept during my
initial wireframing was the
creation of centered
containers. If the user is
constrained to the center of
the screen, signing into an
account, filling out forms,
and booking a room would
be less overwhelming.

Prototypes
Low Fidelity Prototype
The low-fidelity prototype allowed
users to sign in to their account
and explore the website’s pages.
This proved to be beneficial as
the following peer critiques and
testing required people to
navigate around the website.
